You can siphon it out with some flexible tubing, then do a water change. Since you have a 10g, that might be pretty difficult. I would set up a little tub or bucket, transfer everything into that, take out the CC, put in sand (or leave it BB), then transfer everything back. Shouldn't take much more than 30mins, seeing as your tank is 10g, and not a lot of CC is in it.

If you can find the elusive Southdown, I'd use that. Not live, but great sand.

BB = Bare Bottom = No sand

If you want LS, then ask your LFS for a couple scoops from one of their tanks, if they have one.
A cheaper alternative would be Southdown.

Black live sand is probably the Aragalive "Tahitian Moon". It doesn't have any ph buffering ability like aragonite but it looks neat.

I just swapped from CC to livesand this weekend. I set up a polishing filter and just did half of my tank at a time (moving liverock and scaring fish to the other side). I used a tupperware container to scoop out the CC. No real problems. The polishing filter was what helped me - within an hour the tank was crytal clear. Fish were not hurt, just a little mad for the whole tank being torn apart. Seems like everything is happy now (5 days later). I think the tank looks better personally, I say give it a shot. You could probably buy a 10lb bag of livesand for your tank and do just fine.
