Good news......

I'm engaged!!!!!!!!!!!

Not yesterday, but the sunday before that, Matt asked me to marry him. It completely caught me off guard. We were chillen on the new couch, and he wouldn't stop staring at me. After about an hour of that, he finally blurted out, "Do you wanna get hitched?". I wasn't sure if that was his way of popping the question, or if he was just talking about it (he does that). After a few minutes of me not really saying much, he asked me "Sooo.... is that a yes?" Poor guy LOL I think I had him worried there.

Anyways... no ring yet. Apparently he had been saving for one, but having to get our well replaced dried up that completely.

Apparently he'll feel more comfortable if I pick out the ring anyways (even though the surprise isn't as good). Sooooo we get to ring shop at some point soon.

Congrats to the both of you. Does this mean we are all invited to the wedding as long as we bring really nice gifts?

Congratulations!!!!!! Do what I did, I picked out 3 or 4 rings that I liked when we went to look, and I made him make the final choice when I wasn't there.

Thanks everyone!

Depending on what my Dad's budget is, ya'll are invited to the wedding (but I'm not sure about the reception yet LOL).

I'm really excited to go looking for a ring with him. I brought up the option of going with Moissanite (lab simulated diamond) but he poo pooed that idea pretty quickly, although I don't think he realizes it's very hard to tell the difference between a diamond and good moissanite. (I was mainly thinking of the cost factor here, so he's not having to make payments on a ring).

Nah...only if you make it. Dan and I lived together 5 years before we got married. We missed our first 3 anniversaries.

Deb and I lived together for 7 years before we got married. And she kept her maiden name, so nothing changed for us, other than she got more diamonds and I got a ring.

That was it! There are lot's of reasons that people decide to get married tho. Legal issues are a big plus sometimes.

Man, you guys are so romantic. IMO, there's only one reason to get married - you're in love and want to spend the rest of your lives together. Everything else is unimportant.

Oh what do you know. That was in the dark ages wasn't it? I'm sure you've been married that long.
