double question, lighting and filtration

i am looking to get around 150 watts in my 30 gallon tank...
also, looking for a skimmer.........
now, i dont want to bust the bank, nor do i want the skimmer to take up alot of room (or shoot out an obnoxious amount of bubbles, which the turrble one i own currently does).

i really want to keep some low mantence mod light corals, but with current set up its not happening (around 60 watts)....

i was looking at the vyper jbj k-2 hang on light (150watts, 14k), with just some ho t-5 actinc for night time (with about 40 watts)

i am stumped on a good protein skimmer that would take up a small amount of room in the tank that would work.

i am a noob, obviously, and digging through the amount of information out there is killing me.
i would like to learn from yalls mistakes.......

any info or links would be great!

An AquaC Remora protein skimmer should serve you well. I've found it to be an efficient skimmer and have not observed bubbles invading my display. As for lighting, my loyalty lies with T5, although I have had good results with Current USA Sunpod fixtures in the past.
