What reflectors are you going with?

No fuge/sump just going with HOB items?

For HOB skimmers, I had a redsea prism and thought they not only worked great but loved the small footprint behind the tank.

i am going with oceanic aquamedic 150watt mhs and phoneix 14k bulbs, i will be running a 20gallon fuge with probably 15lbs of lr,3"sand bed and various types of macro algae espcially cheato. the hob filter i will take out everything and just pack it with activated carbon. my protien skimmer would be an aqua c remora hang on with a maxi jet 1200. eventually i will upgrade to a euro reef rs80 and get a geo ca reactor but i already have this equiptment on my 29gallon sps tank

I think you will want more in the way of skimming if you are going to do SPS and plan on having any kind of fish load.

I am also planning on 75g. debating on sumpless or sump. For in-sump I am looking at Euro-reef RS100 or DAS, two Koralia 3 and mayber power filter for carbon media and surface skimming. I will also do two part dosing. Good luck with your setup. If you will more skimming than Remora. I had it on my 20g and sometime it doesn't skim.

u guys make a great point the aquac remora hob skimmer maxes out at 75 gallons but then again we c some of these sps tanks with no skimmers and a fairly heavy fish load. i will have to upgrade my skimmer no doubt about it but for the couple months it should be fine. the 20gallon fuge with a #"sand bed,15lbs of lr,and tons of cheato and macro algae shoudl provide a biological filter as well as a phosphate remover, also the 90lbs of lr and 1-2" sand bed should act as one as well. i will upgrade to the euro reef rs80 or rs 100
