Tunze Calcium Dispenser

hello,

Is anyone using this unit? It kinda looks like a plastic container with two airline tubes.. is there anything special with this unit that I can't DIY my own? It's a little expensive for a plastic container.

Basically my goal is to use an Osmolator for auto-topoff while also dosing Kalk at the same time. Can I just fabricate my own Kalk storage and use an Osmolator? Or is the Calcium Dispenser really necessary to have a running Kalk dosing system?

Thx

I use a DIY unit. Make sure the container has quite thick plastic or the reaction when the kalk disolves will cause leaks.

The osmolator and the pump is really the key to the setup. It should be pretty easy to DIY your own cylinder...
