Bullseye Mushroom polyps bleaching??!!

Is it possible for mushroom polyps to bleach? When I got my mushrooms about a month ago they were a beautiful dark green. They were place on the very bottom of my reef about 18 inches from a 250 watt halide. I had them as far from the halide as I could while still allowing them some light. After a week or so I noticed that they appeared to be bleaching. I tried moving them further out of the light about 2 weeks ago but I have not seen any improvement. Was this caused by something other than the light?

I would say it is the light.
