Help please - Do I have a serious problem?

Hi all,

I'm converted an Eclipse 12 into a mini-reef. It has been runnning for 2 months with no fish, but a feather duster, xenia, button polyps, cleaner shrimp, serpent star, and a small clean up crew.

This morning I found a small piece of common electricians tape which had fallen into the tank overnight. I removed it as quicklly as possible. Should I be worried? Nothing in the tank lookis bad. Any advice?
Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep watching stuff, and if things start to look a little odd, do a small water change and see if the tank perks back up.

I agree. I wouldn't worry about it. If you are still using the eclipse part of the filtration, i believe they use carbon in that, which will be of some benefit possibly, but regardless, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thanks again!

I swapped the stock eclipse filtration for a CPR Bakpark 2. I occasionally use a little "Purigen" for polishing the water, so I threw that in there. Everything still looks fine.

I have to agree with the others, I don't think anything in electrical tape is water soluable.

I've had that and I agree with others. Don't worry.

Jeff

Would the Eclipse 12 filter work o.k. if you would have
kept as part of your system? Just curious.

Hi,

Yes, I used the Eclipse filter for a while on it. It used to house a pair of infant Discus, but when they grew up they needed a new home obviously! After changing to salt, I still kept the filter, but did not use the bio-wheel.

I put 2 CSL 32 watt PC retros in there with the eclipse filter, but took it out when I put a CPR Bakpak 2R on there.

I think it's a great little tank. I wouldn't go out and buy one to make a mini-reef, but if you have one, it's great!
