Do dragon/banded gobies need sand in QT
I'm considering purchasing a dragon/brown barred goby, and am wondering if I need to put a sand bucket in the QT tank with it after I get it home. I can seed the sand with food using a pipette so that there will be food for it. How has everyone else QT'd this fish? Thanks!

Most of the time these fish will readily accept prepared foods. If so you should be fine with no sand in the quarantine tank.

I personally perfer to have a sndbed in my QT tank because most wrasse' that you would get should have a sandbed. It would be a pain to add one later.

you dont need one for this goby, however if you want one just fill a small container about an inch deep with sand and place it in there that way its way easier to manage.
this works well for QTing wrasses. |

I added a small sand bucket to my QT. I don't want to put a full sandbed in this tank, as it's also my hospital tank and may get medicated from time to time. I used a small plastic pail, cut down and filled with about 2" of sand. I put a piece of plastic wrap over the bucket to prevent a sandstorm when I lowered it into the tank.
