Calcium:

Fill vial with 5 ml tank water (the line is marked on the vial)

Add 10 drops Calcium #1 reagent cap and shake for 10 seconds.

Solution should be pink.

Invert the Calcium #2 bottle and add drop by drop until the color turns to pure blue. Make sure to invert the vial a couple of times after each drop. Count the drops as each drop is 20 ppm.

Slow down when the color starts to go purple as usually only one or two more drops are needed.

As you are getting close, shake the vial a couple of times after each drop until it turns and stays blue.

Alkalinity:

Fill vial to the line with tank water which is about 5 ml.

Start adding drops, one at a time, inverting vial a couple of times after each drop. When the color turns from blue to yellow, that is your end point. Each drop equals 1 dkh.

I usually add the first 6 or 7 drops right away and then start going one at a time.
