Alternative Pump for Octopus Skimmer?
I have a RPS 2000 and the pump has been a bit unreliable. Right now it is seized up for the second time in as many months, and it always seems to happen when power is cut to it. Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative pump?

I'm putting a Tunze Hydrofomer on my NW-200 next week. The specs of this unit are impressive to say the least.

the new xtreme octos from marine solutions have sicce psk-2500's on them, you can either get them from www.protein-skimmer.com or www.saltycritter.com the first website mentioned has the mesh mod/venturi kit also.

The tunze and sicce's are to much for the octo to handle. Jnarowe you need a pump that will be around 20scfh for that skimmer body and neck. An AB would work well as there 17scfh stock at 500gph. The problem you may have is hooking the pump up to the octo's fittings.
