Will it grow?

I recently bought I monti cap frag from the LFS. I placed it on the bottom of my tank under great light and flow. My question is will it grow all large and purty on its frag rock or do they need to be on a substantial piece of LR to grow ourward? I guess Im asking do they need to be placed on a large piece of LR to grow?

Lighting: 150 MH, 2 X 21" Pc combos
tank: 35 gallon cube.

depending on your light, you may wont to place in higher up.

It will grow like ridges, but if you put it up against the wall it will grow upward in that shape, basicaly it all depends on placement!

here's mine. see it on the back wall

In my opinion it will definitely grow from the frag plug that it is attached to, but it will grow much faster and bigger if you give it a substantial piece of rock to attach to. If you can place it close to a piece of large rock in your tank, it will attach to that rock and have a great foundation to build off of.

I agree with others. Love the rimless tank.
