Help with Stand/sump
Hey, so currently i have a 75g aga that sits on the standard aga stand. I want to put a 20g long sump under the tank in the stand. But i am afraid that i will not be able to fit the 20g long through the two doors on the stand. So i thought i could maybe cut the side paneling off of the stand, but before i do this i wanted to make sure that it is not a load bearing wall. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?
I have pictures of the outside and inside of the stand but do not know how to post them. So if someone could give me a quick run down of how to do that i could show you exactly what im talking about. Thanks |

I fit a 30 long under my 75 when I had it. I had to take the doors of and one of the boards the doors attach to then angle it in.

Nice the pictures worked.
Do you guys think it is safe to remove this portion of the stand while the tank is full? It doesnt look to me to be weight bearing but i would love to get a response from someone with experience with this. thanks. |

It looks like it should be ok. The side horizontal top support, above the boards you want to remove, looks like it is also supported by the front vertical piece at the corners (pic 1, one with the door hinge)

I did add the 30 while the tank was already running. If you will noticed, the board the doors are attached to do not go all the way to the top or bottom, thus not load bearing. Just pop one loose and angle you sump in from the front. This would be alot easier than cutting thru the end of the stand.
