I found the perfect christmas gift

digital picture frames!

mrs B & I got a few of them, for her mom & my folks

we contacted as many family members as possible & a few friends and we mined them for digital pictures.

loaded up the memory card(s) with pictures that they will get to see on Christmas morning when they open it, plug it in & turn it on

dayummm, we're good!

We did that last year for my MIL. She loved it. We spent Christmas Day going through all of her digital photos so she could pick the ones she wanted. The frame held 100-110 pictures.

I've always wanted one of those!

But I have one question....

You have to make sure all the pictures are the same direction right? Like, you can't have a picture of a beach in the 'landscape' orientation, and then have a picture of you and a friend in the 'portrait' orientation. because some of them would be displayed sideways.

Or am I missing something here?

So, those of you who have bought these digital frames, what would you recommend? I'd like to buy one for my desk at work but don't want to end up with a hunk of junk

We gave my mother in law a Ceiva frame about 6 years ago and she loves it. It connects to the internet every night and downloads photos automatically from a website where we upload photos to.

You can also have it display news, weather, comics, keep select photos permanently or just let it randomize from whatever you have on your photo site.

There is a yearly subscription fee, but for the price, its worth it. No printing pictures and no emailing, no getting pictures in email only that you never really see again and it's an 8" display so it's big enough to see.

Can you download pics from a memory card with the Ceiva?
