Purple tang & Cleaner shrimp

My cleaner shrimp is all over my purple tang. Is this normal? is it bad for the fish?

Is he new? My cleaner used to ride around on the side of my yellow tang for the first couple of months. Now, other than the tang occasionally nibbling an antenna, they barely come in contact with each other (hopefully because the tang is parasite free).

Yes....this is totally normal. Cleaner shrimps like to attach themselves to other fish and eat parasites off them. You will notice this behavior for a couple weeks..after that...they will stay off each other. Plus...it's pretty cool to watch lol.

I second that, completely normal. My shrimp even crawl on my hand. Saw a shrimp crawl into a divers mouth on the Blue Realm.

Isn't that why you bought the "cleaner" shrimp?
