old console TV tank

Has anyone tried this? I've seen these big old monstrosities at yard sales and auctions and I've always thought it would be a very cool project. Thoughts, ideas, experience?

I've seen it done... as well as with old CRT PC monitors. It does look kinda cool, you just may have to beef up the inside of the cabinet a bit to hold the tank.

I've heard it is difficult to cut the CRT tube without it imploding on you. Might need to be done in a vacuum.
