Question I need info on various aquarium probes.

Is it possible to get data sheets for pH, ORP, etc., probes? I'd kind of like to experiment with Parallax's new Propeller chip and make a reef controller. Any details would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

Datasheets should be available for probes from a reputable manufacturer. Do some googling or call some mfg reps.

The problem is that the probe manufacturers also manufacturer the controller that the probe attaches to. Makes it a little difficult.

That's true, but they may not actually make their own. There are some universal probes out there too.

Thats also a problem as various manufacturers use various different connectors. One manufacturer uses a 3-wire system, +5v, GND and pH signal. This is a really good system, but all of the hobbyist probes use a BNC connector, which is 2-wire. This means that its a resistive system and that means that I need to test the voltage difference between Vcc and GND. Of course, it would greatly help if I knew which wire was which and what the Vcc voltage should be. I'm guessing that the center wire is Vcc and its rated at 5v. Thats just a guess though.
