Suggestions for t5
Any suggestions for lighting a 60''x24''x24'' tank? Would a 48'' 8 bulb tek cover the span? feel free to make suggestions.....just not on retrofits at the moment....would like to keep an open top.
Thanks! Mel |

I think 48' 8 bulbs combo would be ok to use in your setup. It will be bright enough and I think you might experience a little shade in both corners but not much.
Man... I could have sold you the 60" Solaris led lights that my friend was selling not too long ago...he sold it for a really good price. For T5's, I think you will be ok without a chiller.

Check out Elos or Giesseman (sp?), they make nice fixtures.
Pricey but I think you won't regret it.

My new tank is 60"x24"x24" too. I am doing 60" T5 retro. 8 bulbs on 3 icecap 660. with combination of 11000K aquablue plus, 6000K mid-day sun. actinic plus and actinic 03. All on individual tek reflectors since icecap doesn't have 60" reflector.
