why won't coraline grow in my tank?????

guys i need some help. i can't figure out why corline alega won't grow in my tank.

i have a 75 gallon reef in progress. all my levels r fine except ammonia is like .25 and i did a 15 gallon water change yesterday and will do another 15 gallon change either to day or tomorrow.

my calcium is 450
alkalinity is 140 mg/l (don't know if thats good or bad)
phosphates r 0
nitrites r 0
nitrates r les than 5
ammonia is .25 or less

the tank has been running for about 6months and not one patch of corline anywhere except on my lr which i bought that way has not spread or formed on the glass at all

can someone give me some insight on this ?????

gee, even my Martin Moe book didn't have that alkalinity value in it.

can that be converted to meq/l or ppm or dkh?

decent alk is important for coralline to grow and it will die off at low alk. Also, it seems that certain MH lights really bleach the coralline out and it won't grow under them.

I had a pretty good growth of coralline in my tank before I upgraded my lights to 150w MH. After the updrade the coralline bleached out to a light pink and remains that way today.
