How Many Fish?

Just curious on how many fish i could get for my 20g. Is there some type of calculator i could use to figure it out? Or do most people just go by levels of amonia etc... in the tank. Any help would be nice, i was trying to plan out my set-up

thanks

In salt water tanks, it depends on the types of fish too, not just their size. Behaivor is more important than it is with fresh water, and most of our fish are either hunters or grazers and both are accustomed to lots of room. The tiny little mandrine fish needs lots of area.

So "how many?" isn't really the right question... it's "what species?"

A twenty is pretty small for most reef fish. I'd get good lighting and go with a clown, annemone, and some interesting inverts. There's just not too many species that will be stress free in a 20g. Others might make some good suggestions though.

Check here under Nano Fish - will give you somewhat of an idea what you can add. GL
