sps is now touching my crocea shell

Should I be cutting it away? Will the sps encrust to the shell?

There are many different types of sps all of which have a different growth rates, I would think yes it would over time. Your clams movement will hinder it from attaching, long term it may attach, I would cut it back or move the clam.

Sounds like a plan. I was hoping that since it wasn't an encrusting coral that I may be able to get away with it.
