indexing marine plants and hitchikers

Im currently growing several types of red caulerpa and another round leafed type of algae . tried to identify on some web pages but couldnt find it . I also have the problem with the pixles .so its hard to identify.
my question is this, how long do i leave the stuff in the display tank. i have no corals as of yet, but will soon. my refugium is about 20 gallons?

Caulerpa is not red, so I'm not entirely sure what it is that you have. If you could post pictures we'd be better able to identify it and whether or not it would become invasive in a reef tank.
