how far from the tank did you find your escaped eel?

I have a 10" snowflake...I can't find it anywhere. The tank is covered but there are a few 1/4" holes that may be enough for it to get through. If it actually did, I am very impressed, they are not easily accesible so he would have to be like a magician. Any ways,I have been looking in the tank room, is it possible for them to get very far? should I search all the rooms?

Eels can go quite a ways. I once bought a fresh water moray and the guy at the pet store chased it about 20 feet. I still bought it at a discount and it lived for over 2 years before it got some weird disease. I can't remember what the disease was. But it wasn't from being on the floor. That thing could be anywhere, good luck searching!

With the tile floors in my house my old zebra moray has made it from the living room to the kitchen.
