Thats awesome. They definitely work - there is zero doubt about that. The best instructions I got was to take a rock out of your tank, fill a container with tank water. Acclimate the container with the nudis with that water - after a very slow drip acclimation - put the nudis on the underside - ALL TOGETHER - make sure they have hold, then place the rock in your tank with the nudis on the underside (careful not to crush them). They lay eggs together - I totally noticed when I'd pick up rocks there would be a dozen, with hundreds of eggs. I never saw egg spirals with just one nudi.
It took about a month until I even noticed a dent - the like overnight - they started disappearing fast. They fall apart to the slightest touch. A turkey baster is the best way to detach them and collect them for getting them out. If you can find 20 on the underside of rocks - you have hundreds inside the crevices of your rocks. I brought a Lord colony to a FRAG meeting, Skip cut it up and at least a dozen adults came running out of the colony skeleton. They die off fast after the aiptasia is gone. Make sure all the aiptasia is out out of the overflow, sump, etc. I had one aiptasia on my Tunze - which was on my Wavysea - so it was not connected to the tank, impossible for the nudis to get there. That one aiptasia repopulated my tank after all my nudis died off. Try to keep them going in AZ! It wouldn't be that hard. I should have removed dozens more and given them away.

I put my 3 in the tank yesterday and they all disappeared in the rock, I hope I see them again. It says in the instructions that you may not see them again/often after you get them in the tank. As long as teh aiptasia start dying off, that is fine with me.

Anyone have any input on their Berghia's? I put 3 in my 150g tank and haven't seen them since I dropped them in. I know they're suppose to be nocturnal, but I haven't noticed one of my aptasia missing either...!!! Anybody noticed them eating their aptasia? It's been 10 days now since the delivery...
Thanks...Tracy

I haven't seen a wink of the four I put in my tank either. I check at night but haven't seen them or any missing aptasia.

Haven't seen hide nor hair of my 4. I did feed them one during acclimation and they chowed down. That aptasia pulled in so fast. He he.
From what I've read it takes at least a month to notice any aptasia impact. That's if you have no nocturnal predators. |
