Help with Pocillopora

Hi,

I have a pink Pocillopora damicornis (according to my supplier: liveaquaria) that is losing its color at the base of the stalks. I assume that this is a problem, but I need help in determining what is causing it to happen and what I can do to save the specimen.

Thanks, Fred

Low light and low flow will both cause this. They are light and flow loving corals that grow very dense and if you cant supply the light/flow to the middle or bottom of the coral it will die off in those areas.

Hi mixed reefer,

Thanks for your help. I will move it to a more favorable location. I just hope that it is not too late.

Fred
