Enough Live Rock?

I have a new 120 gallon tank with around a 3.5" sandbed and about 120 punds of live fiji rock. I also have refugium that has not yet been populated with macro yet, and a berlin skimmer. Is this enough filtration for a reef tank? Thanks

more is better in this game Chad. I have a 55 gl with 60 lbs but sure wish I hade more for apperance sake. Im pretty sure that is enough (1 -2 lbs per gallon) for anerobic filtration.

I would say 1 lb/gal is the very least you should have after that its up to how you want it to look.

some folks always say 1-2lbs of live rock per gallon is prime. i have a friend who has a 130 gallon reef with 250 lbs of live rock in it. so 120lbs in a 120 gal tank would definetly be fine. good luck

it does really depend on what you want your tank to look like...it's enough, unless you decide you want more to make it look a certain way

It could be too much if you want room for coral growth.

lt depends on the density of the rock some rock (marshall Island) is less dense than other rock(TBS aquacultered) so just as 120 lbs of feathers takes up more space than 120lbs of lead 120 lbs of one rock will have more area than another.
