I run a 400 power filter as well as a 600 power filter on my 125. I do this for the added flow and for a place to run my carbon. I do this only because I don't have a drilled tank. If you are going to do it the only thing I would tell you is to keep up with cleaning the filter pads at least once a week and change them out once a month to six weeks. I have had the two on my tank for about 3 years now and haven't had a problem at all with them.
Take out the bio wheels if they have them.

If you get lazy and don't keep up with the filter cleaning and changing, you will have a nitrate factory on your hands. If you have good flow in your tank the power filters really take out a lot of gunk. Even if your flow isn't that great they still pull out a good amount of gunk. Neither of mine are Aquaclear. I can't remember the brands but I know they are rated at 400gph and 600gph.
I hope this helps.
