The key is to keep the containers sealed. There's lots of things that get sprayed in a laundry room, and lots of lint, but neither should be fatal. Another key is to keep the tubs in a area of the room where they will be away from where laundry detergents are stored. I still remember the pictures: A fellow reefer's sump, fuge, and prop system were kept in the basement. The sump was right under the laundry room on the first floor. A full container of laundry detergent fell over, and ran over the floor to the opening where the water supply and waste lines came from the basement. The detergent found the hole, and ran along the plumbing lines, and you guessed it, right down into the sump. The pics of the sump looked like an episode of I love Lucy, but the tanks looked like a Nature Channel's special on coral bleaching.
