petemysweet, look again. my current roof is brown. i haven't decided on color. i may go with dark green since all of my outbuildings have dark green roofs (should that be rooves?...hoof...hooves...i'm so confused). i do recall gary telling me that he thought dark green would be good.
here's the bottom line from gary's brother...i can get architectural shingles, 30 year guarantee (i know, i know, but that's what they SAY), tear off, new paper, new roof, new everything for $2400. that includes all labor plus the dumpster for the old shingles. it pays to have a home-improvement brother-in-law.
since that's considerably less than what i thought i'd have to pay, i'm treating myself to new shutters on the front. i'll paint the old ones and put them on the back of the house for a little dress up.
