You will need a longer piece of acrylic though. But the nylon screws are white so it wouldn't look bad at all. In all honestly that center brace might not even be needed but it's always good to be safe. I would also drain the tank to 11" and then mark, drill, and bolt so the pressure is minimal on the brace.
