Culturing of any live food needs to be done in a lab quality manner or you will get contamination. There is no set and forget method for culturing live foods. I guess the key to this is.... You get out what you put into it, or more often than not less than you put into it...
That is why so many people are switching to just buying prepared foods as they are already done for you and most likely better quality.
