Ya know, I looked back through this thread, and I don't seem to be able to find what kind of lights you have???
Most people will add a mixture of nassarius, cerith, trochus, astrea snails, as well as some small hermit crabs to help keep algae under control. That's likely too much for a CUC alone - I'd also suggest manually removing as much as possible.
Are you running any chaeto/macro in your fuge yet?
