You sshould not have to go through a cycle.... if the rock stays in the water from your tank its just like doing a massive water cahange, only you are shifting stuff around so that it won't be affected. What you saw in my container was 72 lbs... so if you gate two and put a power head in both and run your skimmer on one and then the other... you shoudh be fine. I am gonna keep it like this untill it settles. Make sure you do your tests though before you go putting stuff back in just as a precaution in case somthing silly happend.  hope this helps....
