I ran one in my sump, I had the return part against the side of the sump. Making the water run down the glass. And yes I upgraded to a Euro Reef. I guess it would be alright on a small tank. When I re-design my sump, I had the seaclone hanging on the back of tank. I found it skimmed a lot better. But I was also afraid of it leaking, which it never did.
