i would take your water in and have it tested for the following:
ammonia
nitrite
nitrate
alk
calcium
mag
salinity
i'm pretty sure it is a bacterial bloom or lack of magnesium which would make the calcium precipitate. i'm not sure how your calcium could be so high if you have never put anything other than that salt in there because it's levels freshly mixed are much lower then that. Unless whatever you were measuring salinity was way off...........
