As you have said, from what I've also heard the Tubs Blue turns more blue as the light intensity increases however the skirts turns a lighter brown color. The True Blues are just the opposite
They turn more silverish in bright light but stay a dark blue in the shade. The skirts also turn a slight brown in high light.
