The "Black Percula" is a actually what most of us call clownfish folks call "Onyx" or close to "Onyx" markings. One of the Los Angeles wholesalers call their perculas with excessive black a "Black Percula." That is maybe where some of the confusion comes from. The LFS takes these clowns and calls them "Black Percula" too by default. When in reality they are just perculas with more black than a typical percula or close to "Onyx."
That is one of my theories at least. Not sure if that is the whole truth. Hope that make sense?
