I have been very happy with just dripping Mrs. Wages for over 3 years. I think the trick is making sure the salt you add to your reef is ionically balanced when you do water changes.. If your High on ALK and Low on Calcium then Mrs. Wages will keep your reef High on ALk and Low on Calcium... I use Instant Ocean salt and always goose the Calcium up with Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium to get it in the 400's with my water changes.

If it is balanced from the get go (9-10 Dkh, 400-420 Calcium) you should be able to maintain this dripping kalk, assuming you don't have a heavy demand on the ALK from an old DSB or Detritus filled rock.
