If I'm at a restaurant, fur/hair is NOT okay. Also not okay are things like fingernails, staples, and bits of paper (yes, all of these have been served at my table, at one time or another).
If I'm home, and it's a stray cat hair, I've been known to simply remove the bit of food surrounding the hair and continue eating from the bowl...
