you ask about captive breeding of these fish. The answer is yes and no.
Yes as in I was getting my pair to breed frequently (the yellow male and a red female), got alot of egg masses (the female release egg masses that mimic "comb jelly fish".
The egg masses would release eggs which in my cases either never hatched or once they did hatch, I could never get the prolarvae to feed on anything. S-Rots, SS-Rots, veligers, etc, I didn't have access to copepods back then.
In addition, Matt wittenrich publish 3 or 4 yrs back in TFH that his trio would spawn and produce eggs frequently, however his eggs always reached the same fate as mine.
So the prolarvae are extremely tricky, i suspect they will be copepod nauplii or even cilitate feeders, both of us are dedicated to gettting this to work- but not yet.
