About 14 years ago, i kept a Volitan in a 20g tank. The tank was using an undergravel filter. There were no other live species in the tank. Water changes were performed every few months. No special lighting was needed. Elkhart, IN city water was used.
The Lion was small when i bought him from my LFS. His diet started with small guppies, until he became big enought to eat gold fish. I always kept him on live food. When he was broght home, his size was about 2" pectoral. Appx 4 years later, when he died, i would estimate his size at 6".
I was really green when i got him. Looking back, i now realize how lucky i was to keep him that long.
