Thanks guys. I guess I will rinse the rock in some bleach, let it sit in some fresh water and check the ph and ammonia.
I'm not sure if its illegal or not, but with the small amount I am taking I hope it wont be a problem.
Does anyone have any idea what the stuff attached to the rock is? Its like a firm yellow seaweed that is attached to the rock. I'll probably keep that one out of the bleach and fw and see what becomes of it.
