Hello there when I was using the Plexiglass my clowns always went to the corner top of my glass. So I made a corner piece and placed it in the same place(WITH SUCTION CUPS) they laid there eggs. And with out hesitation they cleaned it up a laid there eggs on it. I let them reach term with the parents and at the night of hatching I would remove it and place it in the fry tank. Always worked for me but I never tried it on rock work
