Oh man, is that skimmer working. It is still in HOB mode (sump is getting plumbed as we speak) and the foam coming out the top. I wipe it off every so often and it feels like I'm changing a diaper!
Water definitely looks better- I ordered the Salifert lab and am going to the LFS for testing in a little bit. I'll let you know what the verdict is. Heater is completely off and we are running consistently at 79 with just lights and equipment. Hoping also that the sump might bring us down a degree or so.
We have something else weird going on with some of the sponge. It is a brown sponge and a few days ago, hundreds of little black spots developed on it. They almost look like a worm coming out of the sponge, but they aren't moving. They also look a little bit like eggs. Has anyone else had this?
