While anxiously awaiting the new FDNW-400 Quad skimmer to arrive (
hopefully Friday), I decided to go ahead and drill out the TDNW-300 venturi's from 7/64 to 9/64th's, and the amount extra of suction is insane --
I really wish I had an air-flow meter.
With a freshwater only test, the bubbles were nowhere near as fine or obvious as they were with the smaller venturi ports, which scared the hell out of me, so I decided to add a couple of cups of salt directly to the skimmer to test it, and OMG!!!
I haven't done the mesh-mod yet, and I'm not even sure I'll need to, but I'm certainly not going to rule it out either.
