I have the same light with t5's hanging from my ceiling. I wanted to tank mount it too until I saw how little clearance there was. I was going to cut an L shaped piece of wood to fit on each end of the tank, using them as risers for the mounting legs. But I ended up being a little concerned with how heavy and hot the mh's run that close to the tank. If I really had the time and handyman skills, I would mount the light to a stand that was a little wider than the tank, or behind it. If you could find something strong enough to support the weight behind the tank (like the wall) mount it there. I really love this light so I would recommend buying it.
