the T4 is a very silent pump, but it is also quite the little heat pump as well and has been know by many users to raise the temp of their tanks multiple degrees. This could be an issue if you live in a warm area and do not have a chiller. Typically 1" bulkheads are good for 600 gph or a bit more. You will obviously loss some flow from your return pump through head pressure. My personal choice would be the oceanrunner 6500. It is rated at 1700 gph but you can bet that after head pressure it's going to be much lower cause it isn't a pressure rated pump. It can be run external with no issues.
