i have a recirculating skimmer on my 30 gallon system... i am using a hang on overflow and i'm running around 40-60 gph flow between the main tank and the sump/refugium...

right now, i have a 1.25" flexible tube connected from the overflow box to the sump... i was wondering if it's safe to put a 1.25" - to - 0.5" adapter to feed 100% of the water coming from the overflow directly to the skimmer...
