1-1-08 happy new year! the tank and closed loop is holding water. hurray!
two Sequence Hammerhead pumps.
here is the pattern of the ten holes in the bottom of the tank.
first number is pump, second is outlet. OceansMotions 4 way returns. they feed two at a time opposites, 1 and 3, then 2 and 4.

right now there is about 10" of water in the tank and the closed loops are rocking and rolling, like being on the ocean on a stormy day as they fire straight up at the water surface. i am liking the way the water surges up and down.
lots of time to play with the direction of the flow but it looks really cool now. the straight up will definitely be the first iteration.

insulation under the tank will get another layer, it is already very quiet from pump sounds in the living room. the pumps are below the floor level but right now open at one end into the closet. this will eventually get blocked off as well.
a few days of freshwater testing and then i can put in some saltwater and start aquascaping. i am so excited!!
