Feeding them promotes faster growth. But Duncans are photosynthetic. They are a deep water coral so low to moderate lighting will suffice for these guys. I keep mine on the sand bed and they are doing well under t5 lighting. There are diffrent colroations of duncans, i'd only pay alot for really nice greens ones. If they arent super green i wouldnt pay more than around 15 bucks a head. I paid 50 bucks for the picture i posted and that was for 4 heads or nice green ones.
