One thing I just heard that kinda steers me away is the maintanice on these. Keeping the salt creep off the bulbs and reflectors would be quite a chore.

I'm thinking around 4-5 inches but that might change later on. Good thing is that it will be hanging so changing it won't be a hassle at all.
T5s are for sure more maintenance since there are more bulbs to clean.
